Amazon Vegetable Gardening Initiative
Growing Food, Strengthening Families, Sharing Hope
In the remote communities of the Amazon tri-border region of Brazil, Colombia, and Peru, many families struggle with food insecurity, limited income, and poor access to fresh vegetables. Through our Amazon Vegetable Gardening Initiative, Amazonian Gospel Lighthouse (3AGL) helps families cultivate nutritious food while building stronger, healthier communities rooted in Christ.
Why Vegetable Gardens?
Many villages in the Amazon rely on purchased foods that are expensive and often lack nutritional value. By teaching families how to grow their own vegetables, we help them:
Improve family nutrition and health
Reduce household food expenses
Create opportunities for supplemental income
Develop practical agricultural skills
Build long-term self-sufficiency
This initiative is part of our mission to serve vulnerable children, youth, and families through holistic Christian ministry in the Amazon.
What We Teach
Our agricultural training combines practical farming knowledge with biblical stewardship principles.

Training is paired with practical resources to help families begin gardening immediately.
